Description

Only One Available - Very Rare. Adopted in 1879 this Sword Bayonet was issued with a blade length of over 25" so could it be utilized as both a short sword as well as bayonet. It was intended for use with the .450/577 Martini-Henry artillery carbine and provided the trooper with a longer reach.

The saw back, although looking menacing, was intended for cutting timber beams used in artillery emplacements. This bayonet also fits many of the Martini-Henry infantry rifles that have a bayonet lug (stand) on the side of the upper barrel band. No Scabbard is included.
